Benefits

Why join as a business

A renewable energy community lets your organisation consume local solar energy without installing panels on your own roof.

  • No panel CAPEX

You do not need to invest in your own photovoltaic installation. You take part in the community's shared generation.

  • Keep your supplier

You do not switch electricity supplier. Community energy allocation appears on the bill without changing your supply contract.

  • Local renewable energy

You consume solar energy generated in your area of the grid — more predictable and aligned with your organisation's ESG goals.

  • Eligibility by proximity

Joining depends on distance to the community (eligibility radius). Enter the installation postal code to see if there is a match.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Answers for businesses considering joining a Watton Solar community.

What is a renewable energy community for my company?

It is a model where several organisations share solar generation from a local installation. Your company consumes a share of that energy without installing its own panels.

Do I have to switch supplier?

No. You keep your current supplier. Energy allocated by the community is accounted for on the bill without changing the supply contract.

How do I know if my site is eligible?

Public eligibility starts with proximity: use the installation postal code on the map. Our team then validates the delivery point and grid conditions.

What savings can I expect?

Estimated savings vary by community and consumption profile. When available, we show each community's estimate on the map — there is no single percentage for all.

What if there is no community in my area?

You can register zone interest. We keep your organisation details and contact you when capacity opens near your installation.
